Clementine Uwitonze, also known as Tonzi, has released her ninth album titled 'Respect', making her the first praise and worship singer in Rwanda to achieve this milestone. The album consists of 15 songs, including collaborations with various artists. Tonzi credits divine inspiration and the guidance of the Holy Spirit for the creation of the album, particularly for the challenging Amapiano song 'Kora'. Despite facing difficulties during the production, Tonzi remains grateful for God's strength and guidance.

She describes the album as a personal triumph and plans to publicly release it on March 30. Tonzi is a pioneer of modern gospel music in Rwanda and has had a successful career in the industry since her debut album in 1993. She is dedicated to glorifying God and serving Christ.

Yves Rwagasore is a talented artist who has recently joined the ranks of the Diaspora Nyarwanda. He moved to Canada and is now based in Ottawa, where he is continuing his studies. Rwagasore has already made a name for himself, receiving invitations to various shows and winning the hearts of many fans.

In a conversation with Paradise, Rwagasore discussed his latest song, "He knows how to do it." Interestingly, this is his first release since arriving in Canada, but he actually wrote the song back in 2018 when he was still in Rwanda. The decision to release it abroad was due to timing issues with the producers of both the audio and video aspects, resulting in him coming to Canada.

"He knows how to do it" is a comforting song with a powerful message. It is meant to offer solace to individuals who have been enduring difficult and challenging times for an extended period. The song emphasizes that regardless of the situation or its severity, God has the ability to transform darkness into light.

Rwagasore collaborated with Pastor Ngoga Christophe of Calvary Wide Ministries, who is also pursuing a solo career. When discussing the direction of his music after his move to Canada, Rwagasore expressed his commitment to continue worshiping God through his gift, regardless of his location.

Rwagasore has received invitations to various concerts and events, which indicates the high demand for his talent. Despite being away, he reassures his loved ones that he is still present and cares for them deeply.

He encourages his friends and supporters in Rwanda to continue their unwavering support, prayers, and unity of worship. Rwagasore's humility, love for prayer, conversation, humor, and modesty have contributed to his reputation as an artist.

In 2018, he was nominated for the best artist award in the emerging artists category at the Groove Awards. The award was eventually won by Jado Sinza, who is known for his involvement in significant musical projects.

Rwagasore has previously released songs such as "Those Who Trust in the Lord," "I Am Forgiven," "I Am Forgiven for My Sins," "Mercy," and others. He is also recognized for his show called "Upper Room," which is broadcast on his YouTube channel. On this show, he collaborates with various artists, including Espe, who performed the live song "Njeye Jesu nakane," which has garnered over 428k views.

The singer Meddy, known for his hit songs, released a new track titled 'That Song' in collaboration with Adrien Misigaro. This song holds great significance for Meddy, as it reflects his long-standing desire to worship and praise God. Released on January 14, 2023, 'That Song' marks Meddy's return to the music scene after a year-long hiatus. It is worth noting that Meddy and Adrien Misigaro had previously collaborated on a song titled 'I Will Be Nothing' eight years ago.

In an interview with IGIHE, Adrien Misigaro shared that Meddy's song is deeply rooted in his testimony of embracing Jesus as his Lord and Savior. The lyrics of the song convey Meddy's journey towards spiritual transformation and express his gratitude and love for God. Meddy's close friends affirm that he has fully embraced his faith and now predominantly focuses on creating worship and praise music. Additionally, Meddy is currently working on an album primarily comprised of songs centered around worship and praise for God. Fortran Bigirimana, a respected Burundian gospel artist living in France, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first artist from the region to visit Rwanda in 2024. On January 14, 2024, Bigirimana captivated his audience with a worship and praise music-filled show at the New Life Bible Church in the Kicukiro District.

The event garnered immense popularity and appreciation from the crowd, who expressed their love for the veteran worship minister, with a career spanning two decades. Performing songs from his new album "Birakumvira," including hits like 'Araganje', 'Agano Letu', 'Jesus Christ', 'Uri Mwwa', 'Ntsi Nziza', 'Allelua Hozana' (featuring James and Daniella), 'Ndafise Mogwa', and 'Jeriko/ ni JYesu/ "I walk wide," Bigirimana left an indelible impression on the attendees. Prominent figures, including Apostle Dr Paul Gitwaza, Tonzi,Gaby Kamanzi and many others, graced the show, while Christian Irimbere's performance of 'N umbo' captivated the crowd as well. South African-based Rwandan gospel artist Gift Gadson has recently unveiled a new video song titled 'The Source,' emphasizing the theme of God being the origin of our present and future. The inspiration behind this song draws from the biblical passage in Revelations, John 21:6, which states, "And it is finished. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give him who is thirsty to drink freely from the fountain of living water." Hailing from Burundi and currently based in South Africa, Gadson expressed that these profound words guided the creation of his latest composition, "Isoko," as he believes that the Lord is the source of both our present blessings and future aspirations.

At 23 years old, Gift Gadson is not only a musical talent but also a visual artist. He is an active member of the United of Holy Spirit Church in South Africa and has been contributing to the realm of Gospel music for the past eight years. His initial foray into worship and praise music occurred in 2015, and since then, he has produced a diverse array of songs, including notable titles such as "Jerusalem," "My Life," "This World," "Ndipange Banya," and "Nyumva."

Joining the chorus of worshippers, Denise unveiled her musical talent with the release of "You Are Beautiful Jesus," marking the first installment in a series tailored for her fans. This soulful composition carries a comforting message for Gospel enthusiasts, coupled with skillfully crafted lyrics.

Denise Uwineza expressed, "You Are Beautiful Jesus is a song that I personally wrote. I aimed to convey a message of praise to God." Continuing, she shared, "It's a prayer that I hope everyone would consistently offer, seeking God's guidance and rule, for without God in our lives, we would be devoid of true life. Those sheltered in Christ need not fear."

Currently a university student, Denise is an active member of the SHALOM GILGAL PENTE (SGPC) church. Her song consistently echoes a humble acknowledgment of her limitations, despite her outwardly capable appearance. When questioned about this perspective, she explained, "I believe I can't do anything on my own, as everything I achieve is a result of Christ's grace."

Denise emphasized the challenges faced in the world, ranging from problems and trials to wars, leading to moments of despair and perceived impossibility. She reiterated, "Even when we hit rock bottom and it seems like there's no way, we must remember that Christ, through His sacrifice on the cross, granted us life. Believing in Him allows us to live, for He is capable of achieving everything." The song's chorus beautifully encapsulates this sentiment, emphasizing the transformative power of Christ's sacrifice and the necessity of faith for true life.

In the past three years of his musical journey, Josh Ishimwe, a Rwandan singer, has ventured beyond his familiar Kinyarwanda language with the release of his latest song, "Nakushukuru Ee Bwana," in Swahili on the afternoon of Friday, November 17, 2023. This move follows a growing trend among artists, such as Israel Mbonyi, who recognize the expanding market for Swahili music enthusiasts. Notably, Ishimwe's songs, including 'Nina Siri' and 'Nitamani,' have resonated strongly in Kenya, dominating the country's popular music charts.

Swahili, recognized as the fourth official language in Rwanda five years ago, has gained prominence. With over 200 million speakers worldwide, the February 2023 population census revealed that Swahili is spoken by approximately 2.97% of Rwanda's population.

In preparation for his performance at the "I Bweranganzo" concert by Chorale Christus Regnat on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (Camp Kigali), Ishimwe shared his motivation for singing in foreign languages. He expressed the desire to extend the reach of his message and decided to release the Swahili song as a praise to God for the upcoming event.

Explaining his creative process, He emphasized the intention to bridge cultural and linguistic boundaries, allowing even those who don't speak Rwandan to appreciate the unique traditional style of singing to God.

The artist, known for blending 'Gospel' music with Rwandan tradition, entered the music scene with a distinctive touch, gaining popularity over the past two years. Recalling his musical journey, Ishimwe began serving God through singing in the children's choir in 2000, unaware that it would evolve into a lifelong profession. Now 24 years old, he has honed his talent through various artist collaborations, including the Uguru Music group, working closely with artists like Yvan Ngenzi and René Patrick.

Reflecting on his initial fears as an artist, Ishimwe acknowledged concerns about how his music would be received by fans. However, he remains committed to breaking new ground in his musical exploration and expressing gratitude for the support that has fueled his journey so far.
