"Tonzi's Journey: The Sisters Reunite for 'Respect' Album Launch"

After 10 years absent from the same stage, the renowned artists Aline Gahongayire, Uwitonze Clementine known as Tonzi, Gaby Kamanzi, and Phanny Wibabara, members of the group The Sisters, joined forces with Liliane Kabanza to amaze the audience with their diverse Christian songs just before Easter, presenting Tonzi's new album titled "Respect".

The event attracted a large audience to the Crown Conference Hall in Nyarutarama on the evening of March 31, 2024.

Organized by Mazimpaka Jones Kennedy and DJ Spin, who entertained the audience with various worship and praise songs, the attendees were treated to 15 songs from the album, interspersed with meticulously planned performances. Starting from the majestic entrance of The Sisters, the event unfolded into a live recording session at Matheo Studio, continuing to their live performances, including medleys and mash-ups.

The songs, spanning different musical genres such as Reggae, Zouk, Rhumba, rap, and others, included hits like "Arankunda" by Gabby Kamanzi, "Ndanyuzwe" by Aline Gahongayire, "This is my Time" by Phanny Wibabara, "Lord I Lift Your Name on High," and more.

Tonzi, the star of the night, took to the stage thrice, each time calling upon the attendees to worship alongside renowned artists like Yvan Buravan and Gisele Precious.

In her heartfelt speech, Tonzi expressed her gratitude towards God for guiding her through the journey of creating this album, especially after overcoming health challenges in 2023.

She said, "Producing this album was a challenging journey, but through it all, I saw God's hand, and I believe He is leading me forward. Let this event not be just a celebration but a moment to glorify God, let it be a reminder of His grace in my life. Let's also remember Yvan Buravan and Giselle Precious, my co-artists, in our prayers."

Lilian Kabaganza, formerly based in Kenya, was overwhelmed with love during the event, as one of her songs received a special rendition and she was honored throughout the concert until her farewell.

The songs performed included "Nari mu mwijima," "Imana ni byose," and "Bakundwa," which Lilian had sung during her time at Rehoboth Ministries.

Tonzi urged the attendees to cherish the memories of the event and promised to support them through the ups and downs of life, as reflected in the 15 songs filled with the message of "Respect".

The event concluded with Tonzi honoring the leader of the National Music Council, Marie France Niragire, who had supported her through the Ministry of Culture and Artistic Development, presenting her with a certificate of appreciation and a national anthem performance.

Among the distinguished guests were Mariya Yohana, Muyango Jean Marie, Mani Martin, Intore Tuyisenge, Aimable Twahirwa, Niragire Marie France, Massamba Intore, Allain Numa, Bahavu Jeannette and her husband Freury Legend, Isimbi Alliance (Alliah Cool), Bwiza, Niyo Bosco, Uhujimfura Claude, Japhet Mazimpaka, Clapton Kibonke, and others.
