Heavenly Harmony: Reflections on the Ewangelia Easter Celebration Concert

The 'Ewangelia Easter Celebration Concert,' organized by the Bible Society of Rwanda (BSR), proved to be a remarkable event commemorating Easter. Held on March 31, 2023, the concert was part of the ongoing "Supporting the Bible" campaign launched in 2023. Its aim was to uplift those who cherish the word of God found in the Bible and support efforts to spread its teachings through various initiatives.

The Archbishop of Kigali and the Chief Spokesperson of the Bible Society of Rwanda, Cardinal Antoine Kambanda, reminded all Christians of the significance of the Bible, emphasizing its value above all other books on Earth. He urged everyone to engage with it faithfully to ensure its message reaches everyone.

The concert featured various artists renowned for their gospel and worship songs, along with choirs and instrumentalists from different denominations and traditions. Starting at 6:00 PM, the BK Arena was filled with worshippers, including performers from various denominations and singers from different musical genres, all joining in praise and worship.

Attendees were treated to an array of performances, including renditions by the Shalom Choir, affiliated with the ADEPR Nyarugenge Parish, singing songs like "Umwuka Wera" and "Nzirata Umusaraba." The event also showcased meticulously planned musical pieces performed by the Christus Regnat Choir from the Catholic Church, including "Alleluia Shimirwa" and "Ni Kristu Muzima."

The heartfelt performances continued to resonate with the audience, supported by the captivating vocals of artists like Elie Bahati, who sang soul-stirring songs such as "Niseme Nini Baba" and "Uko Ngusabira."

Moreover, the concert saw the collaboration of the Jehovah Jireh Choir from CEP ULK Post Cepiens, who demonstrated their musical prowess with songs like "Ni Intwari" and "Turakwemera." They were joined by James and Daniella's Choir, whose performances, including "Mutangabugingo" and "Umwanzi ni mwiza," deeply moved the audience.

The event wasn't confined to local talent, as Tanzanian artist Zoravo graced the stage with songs like "Wanakufananisha" and "Ameniona," captivating the hearts of the attendees.

Additionally, the Easter Celebration Concert featured special moments of worship led by renowned gospel artist Israel Mbonyi. His presence and performances of songs like "Ndashima" and "Umusirikare" created an atmosphere of reverence and gratitude among the audience.

The Bible Society of Rwanda (BSR) used the occasion to advocate for continued support for the Bible, encouraging attendees to uphold its teachings and ensure its accessibility in the Rwandan language. They highlighted various ways individuals and organizations can support the Bible, including translation efforts, financial contributions, promoting its use, and facilitating its distribution to diverse communities.
